Summary:

Starfleet's (SFI) USS Chinook and the Starfleet Marine Corps (SFMC)10th Brigade, designated and assigned, officer Jeff Cromwell (and his family), as the duly recognized attaché for both the interests of Starfleet and Starfleet Marines. The dual interests of Starfleet and SFMC, are managed through the USS Chinook and 10th Brigade, for the scientific and territorial (border) integrity of what is now known as, the Northern Relay (Border) Station Deep Space 63 ("DS63"), within Fort Mc Murray. The primary purpose of DS63 is of scientific research of the Boreal forestry area (Wood Buffalo region of Alberta); while it's secondary purpose, is maintaining border territorial integrity of the northern frontier of the Alberta sector.

For as long as there's been a presence within the Wood Buffalo region (including the Fort McMurray valley) and northern Alberta sector, competing territorial claims by the Klingons and Romulans have lead to an increase of support from both SFMC and SFI over the years.

DS63's primary location, is stationed along the western line, of the Fort McMurray Timberlea area, bordering the boreal forest of northern Alberta.

Operations of DS63, are under the direct authority of the USS Chinook starship from Calgary, Alberta; including SFMC authority by the 403 Strike Force (which is also attaché of the USS Chinook.)

The station is commanded by SFI/SFMC officer Jeff Cromwell, who also serves as a regular crew officer of the USS Chinook (and SFMC 403 Strike Force); serving multiple roles including Chief Flag Protocol Officer and Personal Officer for 10th Brigade.

DS63 has been part of the USS Chinook and 403 Strike Force Commands since 2010, with a brief transfer of SFI command to the USS Cerberus (Edmonton, Alberta region), in early 2021; returning to the USS Chinook at the end of the year.
